Be nice to yu turkeys dis christmas
Cos' turkeys just wanna hav fun
Turkeys are cool, turkeys are wicked
An every turkey has a Mum.
Be nice to yu turkeys dis christmas,
Don't eat it, keep it alive,
It could be yu mate, an not on your plate
Say, Yo! Turkey I'm on your side.
I got lots of friends who are turkeys
An all of dem fear christmas time,
Dey wanna enjoy it, dey say humans destroyed it
An humans are out of dere mind,
Yeah, I got lots of friends who are turkeys
Dey all hav a right to a life,
Not to be caged up an genetically made up
By any farmer an his wife.
Turkeys just wanna play reggae
Turkeys just wanna hip-hop
Can yu imagine a nice young turkey saying,
'I cannot wait for de chop',
Turkeys like getting presents, dey wanna watch christmas TV,
Turkeys hav brains an turkeys feel pain
In many ways like yu an me.
I once knew a turkey called........ Turkey
He said "Benji explain to me please,
Who put de turkey in christmas
An what happens to christmas trees?",
I said "I am not too sure turkey
But it's nothing to do wid Christ Mass
Humans get greedy an waste more dan need be
An business men mek loadsa cash'.
Be nice to yu turkey dis christmas
Invite dem indoors fe sum greens
Let dem eat cake an let dem partake
In a plate of organic grown beans,
Be nice to yu turkey dis christmas
An spare dem de cut of de knife,
Join Turkeys United an dey'll be delighted
An yu will mek new friends 'FOR LIFE'.

Some of us tried to read the poem without having all the words and it turned out to be creative and fun:

11º turma B, João Joaquim,Pedro Romão e João Palma
When we pick up the turkey
His head we chop
To take away his life
And watch him dance hip-hop
Usually genetically made up
Instead of organic food
You live caged up
In a lie of your own
With rice and beans
We eat in the plate
Also with greens
And in the end it looked like a stake

11º E, Bruno Santa Rita, Francisca Bastos, Guilherme Cameira and Victoria Ayuso
Hi, I'm a Turkey
I'm genetically made-up
You may think I'm free
But I'm caged-up
You usually think I'm organic grown
But my friend, that's a lie of your own
With a knife
You cut my life
Do you think it's funny?
Then come to the chop
You'll see me dancing hip-hop.

11º C Alexandre Piçarra ,Susana Ferreira
Turkey, my love
The one I adore
I ate a turkey
And I want to eat more
The turkey I chopped
When I was dancing hip-hop
I did it with a knife
To take his life
I love greens
I love you
I love beans
I was made for you
My turkey was genetically made up
But I love him any way
He was caged up
And in my heart he stays

11º B, Catarina Galego, Isidro Féria, João Vaz and Maria Ines Gonçalves
This is the turkey hip-hop
so grap your knife and chop
if the turkey is caged up
it means it's Gmade up
and if you want beans you better grow them on their own
because good greens must be organic grown

Earth Day at ESDG - 22nd April

The 3rd term has already started and on 22nd April our school will be celebrating the Earth Day with Philosophy. The 11th graders have been working on many projects to raise the school community’s awareness to this important day. From giving everyone the chance to learn a bit more about our planet through many informative posters and Power Point presentations that will be shown in the school’s main hall to calling each person’s attention to how they might be damaging our home without knowing it - making it possible to easily calculate your Ecological Footprint - we will be attempting to spread the green habits and views trying to make the world a better place, one person at a time.
We've tried to combine the information we want to transmit with some creative thoughts to make it appealing to everyone. What would happen if every human being on Earth disappeared? As you’ll be able to realise through an appealing documentary, the Earth would move on... without us.
In Dave Foreman’s words, you should “pay your rent for the privilege of living on this beautiful, blue-green, living Earth”.

Celebrate Earth Day everyday!
